Whether you’re new to Instagram or you’ve been in the game for a while, sometimes you begin to overthink Instagram content. Before we get started, I want you to know that Instagram is your little piece of the internet. It’s where you can post what you like and what you don’t like. Yes, someone will always have an opinion, but that is life. As creators, we must think of our platforms as a piece of our voices rather than to satisfy those who are consuming our content. Yes, the dreaded algorithm is there, which is why you should always have an email list or another way to communicate with your community.
Creating content gives us the ability to inspire, empower, entertain and educate. When creating content, you want to make sure that your content is doing one of these four things.
There are multiple steps that go into creating one piece of content, but we always need to make sure that the content aligns with ourselves and our brands.
In this post, I will give you 5 Instagram content ideas to help you increase engagement and increase your following.
Social Media Content Ideas
Behind the Scenes (BTS)
Are you working on a project? Maybe you have something surprising happening within your business. Behind the scenes could also be taking someone through your work day. Create a caption and lead your community to your Instagram stories to find out what you have going on. You do not need to do cartwheels for your instagram content to be valuable. Think of your ideal follower who is looking to do the same thing you are doing. Maybe there’s a follow who doesn’t understand content creation and now they have a better understanding because you’ve taken then behind the scenes. Hint: Don’t forget to use your instagram stickers.

Your community is continually changing. That one post last year that did well can literally be reused. I’ve copied and pasted old post to see how my community will respond. Feed post last usually for 24 hours and a small percentage of your community can see your content. You can check exactly which percentage in your insights. Your Story
Consistently and constantly tell your story. Re-introduce yourself because sometimes your followers miss it and other times they want to hear it over and over again. I talk about my love story consistently because I love it and my community loves to know different parts of our story. If you have a blog or website direct your community to the full story or talk about your email list.
Vulnerability
This is probably the toughest yet most impactful type of Instagram content. I am not saying impactful to your community, but to you! Growing in your business takes you stepping out of that comfort zone over and over. When you start to talk about pieces of yourself that you’ve hidden, you see yourself in a new light. Your community wants to see other aspects of your story and not just the good parts or the Instagrammable parts.
How you help
It doesn’t have to be hard. Explain what’s in your bio in detail. Talk about why someone should be following you. Now this post isn’t to sell anything, but to connect with others. Talk about why you are passionate about what you are doing. Hint: Add a highlight on instagram that your community can refer to.
I truly believe the more content that you create, the better you get at creating content. Remember, to not complicate the content and to keep on going. Instagram is the long game and growing on instagram is different from making and income for instagram. Consistently creating content will help you get to your goals on the platform.
