Recently, instagram stated to use 8-15 hashtags. You are allowed to use up to 30 per post. You can also use 10 when posting instagram stories. Like with anything on instagram, it’s not one size fits all. I suggest you try a strategy for at least 3 months prior to saying “this don’t work for me”

Where should they go?

Hashtags can go in your caption or on your comments. Hashtag strategy on posts, reels, and IGTV is different. When it comes to using hashtags, remember that you should try each way and find what works best for your page. I have clients that use them in the captions and others who place them as the first caption. Do what’s best for your page.

How often should I use them?

EVERY SINGLE POST. I recommend using the hashtags in your stories. Especially, when you are giving a mini training, hosting a free webinar, or sharing your tasks for the day.

Can I use the same them over and over?

No, you do not want to use the same sets over and over because Instagram will mark it and you may get shadow-banned.

What do I do after posting?

Never post and ghost. When it comes to social media, there are not that many never situations, but posting and ghosting is definitely one of them. Once you post, you want to interact with your community and your hashtags that you have in your post.
