This week, I wore a red lipstick from a High School Friend on Instagram stories. It’s so crazy just thinking about it! I was in drill team in High School and we were “forced” to wear red lipstick and I truly did NOT like it at all. I want to start off by saying anyone can pull off any color of red lip they desire! Just because you are darker skin doesn’t mean you need to wear the burgundy’s and if you are fair skinned you must stick to cooler undertones of blue and purple. It’s all about how the red lip makes you feel.
Only took 16 years later, I am embracing this beautiful lip color! I wanted to share some of the reds I have tried! Here’s a list of all of my favorite red lipsticks!

Let’s start off with the Cabo Red, I call it Cabo red because I remember wearing it in Cabo and watching the beautiful sunset. This is a fierce RAWR! The real name is “Feel So Grand” liquid matte from Mac Cosmetics. I love mattes because they stay on longer without reapplying. “Uncensored” stunna lip paint from Fenty beauty is a moody red with a darker undertone. “Always Red” from Sephora is a bolder red with a cooler undertones.
“Super Lustrous” by Revlon & “Ruby For Me” by Maybelline Sensational are non matte lipstick options.
Lipliners
Red lip tip: make sure you grab a lipliner to make sure your red stands out, stays inside the lip area and does not bleed. Here’s a couple of my favorite lip liners.
