I feel like I planned this cowboy-themed baby shower in my head for years, but never imagined it would turn out this wonderful.
I always envisioned a grand celebration for our firstborn, and as the planner (operating from Germany!), the pressure was real. But the result? A co-ed baby shower for over 80 guests in Dallas, Texas, that felt more like a magical wedding!

Cowboy-Theme Baby Shower
From the moment we found out it was a boy, a million ideas started swirling. We wanted a celebration that reflected our love story and the joy of welcoming a son. We also desired a co-ed event, a chance for all our loved ones to come together. Especially, because we live abroad this was a chance for family to celebrate the new chapter.
Howdy ya’ll was our perfect theme since we were in Dallas, Texas, and wanted to embrace the city’s vibrant southern charm! The “Welcome Little One” theme provided a classic foundation, while the “Howdy Ya’ll” twist added a touch of whimsy and local flavor.
Planning Across the Miles
Pulling it off from Germany wouldn’t have been possible without my amazing dream team. Enter Alicia, my incredible friend and the mastermind behind SME [So Much Entertainment], a full-service event production company! With her expertise, the baby shower went from a fun concept to a cowboy-themed baby shower extravaganza.
But Alicia’s brilliance wasn’t limited to the pre-planning. On the day of the shower, she transformed into the ultimate conductor of this joyous celebration. She seamlessly orchestrated the flow of events, keeping the energy high and the guests entertained. Her dedication and organizational prowess ensured that everything went off without a hitch, allowing me and the other guests to relax and enjoy the festivities simply.
I also had the phenomenal support of my local bestie, Breana. She became my eyes and ears on the ground in Dallas, scouting venues that fit our vision and coordinating with vendors to ensure everything ran smoothly. And let’s not forget my amazing brother, Tashinga. His accountant superpowers came in handy when it came to budgeting and managing the logistics – a lifesaver when planning across continents!
Finding the Perfect Venue: Peerspace to the Rescue!
Securing the perfect venue was a top priority, and Dallas offered a dazzling array of possibilities. From quaint tea rooms to expansive banquet halls, the options seemed endless!
With Peerspace, we could easily input all our preferences – desired size, indoor/outdoor space, budget – and browse through a curated selection of unique venues. The platform offered a treasure trove of possibilities from charming gardens to elegant lofts. It was a breath of fresh air compared to traditional venue hunting, which often involves countless phone calls and impersonal websites.
Through Peerspace, we stumbled upon a venue with free parking. It ticked all the boxes – perfect for our large guest list, offering both intimate nooks for conversation and open areas for mingling. It truly embodied the warm, welcoming atmosphere we envisioned for the baby shower.
