First Time In Seattle: The Perfect 3 Day Itinerary

First Time In Seattle: The Perfect 3 Day Itinerary

My husband and I sat down at the beginning of the year and talked about places we have been in the United States. We decided to make a United States Bucket List and Seattle was the top of our list. In this post, I will give you a travel guide for Seattle and talk about our experience!

What to Pack for Your Trip

Who here is an over packer? I used to be guilty of over packing until I started taking trips to Europe with a backpack to last me two weeks! YES, you read that right. You begin to realize that you do not need 10 outfits if you are spending 2 full days somewhere. I cannot seem to get away from packing a billion pairs of underwear though! You win some and you lose some! I use Eagle creek packing cubes to pack. I usually pack a day outfit and a night outfit for each day. One cube I put all of my pants (usually 2-3) pairs, & day shirts. Another cube is for the evening wear/dresses. Another for the millions of underwear, bras, & socks. And I started using a laundry bag to keep all of the dirty underwear. I hope that helps someone become a little less of a “I might wear this” packer because you WON’T wear it!

Getting Around Seattle

Seattle has a good public transportation system. We went during the beginning of the corona virus, so be opted to use Uber. Here are some links on transportation!

Getting Around Seattle

Where to Stay in Seattle

OKAY, our hotel was AMAZING! We LOVED the vibes, people, location and overall HIGHLY recommend Moxy Seattle Downtown- South Lake Union Hotel. May I remind you that I am NOT getting paid to say this! Moxy is a Marriott bonvey hotel. You walk into the hotel and check in at the bar. *jaw drop* What a concept, right?

Once we checked in, we received our vouchers to enjoy a free cocktail on them! If the bar is not for you, maybe shuffleboard is your thing! The lobby has TVs, games, and sitting areas! It was perfect for a rainy day where you just wanted to hang out, but not in your hotel room. One thing I look at when I go to hotels is the bathroom.

Weird, right? Give me a minute to explain myself! When a hotel takes the time to include bathroom goodies, it’s usually a reflection of their service! Now, think of a place you have been where they had toothbrushes, sewing kit, steamer, etc! That was definitely the case with the Moxy! Every morning, we slept in and the staff at Moxy would text us “Good morning! We see the do not disturb sign, text us when you are off to your adventure for today.” It was such a lovely way to start the day!

Best Restaurants in Seattle

Breakfast/Brunch

Tilikum Place Café: a European-style bistro & bar! Let me start off by saying WOW. The baked beans plate took me back to when I was 12 years old and my mom would cook my siblings and I (4 of them) sausage, eggs, baked beans and a piece of French bread from Albertson’s. This meal took me back in time! A time when we would gather for breakfast around the table laughing, arguing, and playing jokes! Thank you for that Tilikum! My husband (Robin) had a cappuccino and a Dutch baby, which he talked about the entire day. I get it.. IT WAS GOOD! Ahaha. When we were researching, it was suggested to make a reservation!

Supersix café: Bottomless mimosas. Is that a full sentence? If you know me you know I love mimosas, wine and a good cocktail! Food hits deep. Even though I’m a nibbler. I would rather share a meal any day! Anywho. I recommend the French toast!

Oddfellows café & bar: is it a requirement that any restaurant that names itself odd fellows MUST have great coffee, amazing food and excellent service? Maybe it’s an unwritten restaurant rule, but Oddfellows did not disappoint. The ambiance, food, & conversation were just what we needed to end our outlook on Seattle!

The Original Starbucks: PICTURE SPOT! Things to note… lines will be long. You get as much time in there as you want, so relax because you already stood in line. They let about 4 people in the store at a time! I do not drink coffee. It’s okay we can still be friends because I drink tea!

I ordered a chai and it’s amazing to think that this tiny shop was the start of a HUGE corporation. The Original Starbucks reminds us that although we may feel small, we can make a difference. 😉

Dinner

Pink door: An experience! Just that! My husband (Robin) and I did not want to leave this beautiful restaurant! I think it was the live music! This is also where Robin feel in love with OYSTERS *shimmy*. The restaurant does have burlesque shows and trapeze entertainment, so make sure to check out their schedule on the website.

Rock Creek: What’s the name for an oyster connoisseur *googles*? Well, ladies and gentlemen.. it’s an oyster connoisseur. Ahaha. Rock Creek staff helped us understand oysters just a little bit. Of course, he cocktails were amazing & let’s just say that one day my husband and I may become connoisseurs after our trip to Seattle! I would get a couple of oysters to try!

Things to do In Seattle

Space needle:

My husband and I go into every tower in every big city we have been too. We have been inside Fernsehturm Berlin (the TV tower), the Sky Tower in Auckland, New Zealand, the Reunion Tower in Dallas, Texas, etc. You get the gist. It’s our thing, so Space Needle… WE ARE COMING BACK FOR YOU!

The Gum Wall:

Since we are still judging me. Do not worrying I am judging me too. Ahah I went to the gum wall WITHOUT gum! We kind of stumbled upon it. The gum wall is right below Pike place. If the wall, pikes place and Original Starbucks are on your list, they are all literally right there!

Pike Place Market:

I am going to say something, but PUHLEASE don’t judge me, OKAY? I didn’t know that pikes place was a farmer’s market. YES, I said it! I just thought it was a cool place where they threw fish, I guess? Alright. Judge me cause that wouldn’t even make sense. We got the most amazing jam and fudge from Woodring Orchards who told us all about how dangerous it is for him to fly over and do his business. There’s a beautiful view in the back!

Kerry park: THE best view of this beautiful city! It is definitely a MUST!

Alki beach: Can you do me a favor? Go to the most popular beach in Seattle and experience the Puget sound, have a picnic, walk along the beach and just live it up for me! Seattle was rainy and cold most of the time we were here and I CANNOT wait to go back and experience

I always want to talk about places I have been and loved, BUT a weekend isn’t enough to experience an entire city! I want to go back and HIKE, go on the hot tub boat and enjoy so many more things that Seattle has to offer! Yes, you can go on a hot tub boat in the middle of Lake Union.

Olympic sculpture park: this park is owned by the Seattle Art Museum and it’s FREE. There’s a NINE ACRE outdoor museum along with a beach!

Day Trip From Seattle

Bainbridge Ferry On the ferry ride we took pictures, grabbed a local beer and a hot dog! It did take us the entire trip to realize its pronounced BAIN-BRIDGE!

Bainbridge: is a cute city filled with shops and it kind of gives you that feeling that you are somewhere top secret! I could only shop with my eyes (thanks Robin), but the stores had a lot of cute things. There were random wine bars all around the city. We had a tea & coffee, ice cream and just walked around the town!

I hope Seattle treats you well friend! At the end of the day, even if it’s raining you can still enjoy this beautiful city!
