Flight Plans Canceled… Now What?

Flight Plans Canceled… Now What?

HANG IN THERE FRIEND!

No worries, one day we will see views like this again!

IMG_6789.JPG

We will laugh about the one time the world stopped, and we could only explore our living rooms and kitchens! UH OH! We will appreciate things like TSA lines a bit more and maybe take the time to great the officers who tell us to empty our water bottle or toss the 4oz bottle. I mean…. I may even stand in the TSA line rather than go through pre-check. I feel like I need the full experience. It’s like when you go to Six Flags to ride the same rollercoaster just for the THRILL! Man. Can I hear a TURBULENCE in the house? ahahah

ANYWHO!

I know things are definitely not how we expected them to be and there are so many things being cancelled in 2020. Let’s be clear though, 2020 is NOT canceled! You can still chase after what you want as long as your doing it in your home!

I sent this Airplane cancellation/refund guide to my email list last month! Today, as I sat on the phone with Expedia (amazing service by the way), I thought I would share this information and hopefully help someone who is having trouble with canceled plans! If your airline is not on the list, email, instagram, or facebook me & I will call and get that information for you!

Airline Update:

On April 3, 2020, the U.S. Department of Transportation Requires airlines to refund passengers for canceled flights. I did all of the research for you! The requirement for refunds is for the flights the airline, THEMSELVES, canceled.

Here are the specific guidelines for some of the airlines. If YOUR airline is not below, do not hesitate to email me & I will help you find the answers you need! Oh, like always, there are links to contact pages, so you don’t have to deal with the extra!

Airlines:

AMERICAN AIRLINES:

If American Airlines cancel your flight, then you can get a refund of your money. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was unable to get my money back because on March 23rd when I canceled my flights, flights were still going! American Airlines has extended their travel time to December 31, 2021. BUT listen Linda, YOU need to make your travel plans by the date that you booked your flight. Example: I booked my flight February 23, 2020, so I have until February 23, 2021 to call AA and book my next flight.

DELTA:

Like the other airlines, Delta is giving eCredits for flights that you cancel from March-September 30,2020. You can use the credits until September 2022. There is no need to call them because you will have your eCredit for canceled travel. All flights from March 1 and May 31, 2020 can be changed without a change fee for a year from the date you PURCHASED!

SOUTHWEST:

THIS is why I LOVE Southwest! No hidden INFORMATION or fees. They have it all explained in the link above! No need to search!

If you cancel your flight at least 10min before scheduled departure, the funds can be used for nonrefundable ticket. If our customers’ fund have expired or will expire between March 1, 2020 and September 7, 2020 , will now expire September 7, 2022 along with any travel funds created because of canceled flights between March 1- September 7, 2020!

JET BLUE:

“We’ve waived all change and cancel fees for travel thru 6/30/20, regardless of when you purchased your ticket. And, there are no change or cancel fees on new flights booked thru 4/30/20. Fare difference may apply. Funds issued as a JetBlue Travel Bank credit, valid for 24 months from issue.”

BOOKIT:

“BookIt.com has now cancelled all future bookings at resorts located in non-US destinations. We have also been officially notified that most of these resorts have closed temporarily, as air travel into their destinations is not possible at this time.
Your RESORT booking has been cancelled automatically
All upcoming PayDelay payments for upcoming travel have been cancelled

As we are currently unable to process refunds to you, please contact your bank for options available to you as a cardholder

Your FLIGHT portion of your booking will be cancelled when the airline you have booked officially cancels your flight. Provided PayDelay payments have been made so as to cover the cost of your flight, your remaining PayDelay payments have been cancelled.
As we are currently unable to process refunds to you, please contact your bank for options available to you as a cardholder. If you wish to reschedule, please deal directly with your selected airline. If you wish to cancel your flight, in most cases you can do so on your respective airline’s website.”

If I missed your airline, do not even worry about it love! contact me, I’ve got you covered!
At the end of the day,I hope this helps you during this odd time! Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you!
